Whitening Q and A

How quickly will my teeth whiten?

How quickly teeth will change color depends on how frequently whitening is done, the strength of the whitening product, and each individual’s teeth. Some people’s teeth whiten after just a couple treatments while others may take more time.

Is it normal that my teeth are sensitive?

Whitening teeth often results in sensitivity to cold, sweet or sour foods. Sensitivity can be reduced by using an anti-sensitivity toothpaste 2 weeks prior to starting whitening as well as continued use throughout the whitening process.

How long will it last?

Teeth will naturally revert back to their original color over time. How quickly it happens can be affected by a number of things including oral hygiene and diet. Tobacco products, red wine, tea and coffee can all make teeth darken more quickly. If desired, touch-up whitening can be done to maintain the teeth at a persons preferred shade.
